Who wrote it's gonna get warmer in the alps this weekend? I woke up at 7.30am, looked at the TV, -6C up top, so base layer, longsleeved synthetic top, t-shirt and a soft shell**. No bugger mentioned the 75km/h wind that got up early afternoon. Lovely lower down however.
** I don't get the hat out till -10C normally, and gloves are optional at -6C  |

Hmmm, that does seem a bit excesive. Duty free Vodka may help. |

Deckchairs across the loading point with Union Jacks would do the job. |

Somebody suggested Saalbach, if you want cruisy then it really is the place, linked with Hinterglemm and Leogang it has a huge area and the best lift system I have ever used. The accomodation is high quality, it's lively enough and they have snowmaking for more than 90% of resort.

As the future Mrs 11 has a 11 month contract in Finland I think I am gonna give it a blast for a long weekend. I quite fancy Levi to see what it's like. If nothing else I bet they know how to have a bevvy or twelve. It opens next weekend.

Snowboarded in La Plagne over New Year (my first time on the piste) and New Years Eve itself was the dullest I have ever had.

I think he only wrote that cos Mrs. H read his first post and afterwards he felt he must add something based in reality to the conversation given the grilling he got ) Besides this, I can't contribute as I dont ski :( But if the same thought could be applied to my snowboard, I would wish it could detect stress, anxiety and a troubled mind; then simply dissapear me from the situation to something a snow based challenge just a tad above my experience/ability, so I can do nothing but concentrate on what is in front of me. Basically the reason I fell in love in the first place. |
