Ah, happy childhood memories of tin can telephones. So how exactly do they work on the slopes then.....

Well, a late night and alcohol did have some bearing on it but not how you described. Our son had been finished with very suddenly by his girlfriend of several years so we packed him off to our daughter to have a sisterly talking to followed by a marathon session in the local hostelries with our son-in-law. The following morning they discovered that their house move was to take place that day instead of the day after - chaos! Our son and son-in-law were not very much help and simply threw things in boxes. So, many weeks later they were due to come skiing with us, I did the usual mum thing of making sure everyone had their passports, health cards, etc. After turning their new house upside down, they eventually looked in the shed! At least it did turn up and no roofs were damaged in the process. I did warn you not to ask!!!

Tony - could your son possibly know my son since they have both managed to wash their passports? Our daughter couldn't find her passport last year and it turned up in her garden shed - Don't ask!!

I think I saw something in the local press recently about starting work later this year?

I have just renewed my passport and it took exactly one week which I thought was really good service. Mine was just a standard renewal for a soon to expire passport and my husband took the photos and printed them. I used first class post. My son has just had to replace his passport as he left it in a pocket and put it in the washing machine! Form for replacement passport involved more information and a countersignatory to confirm his identity so he used the Post Office checking service - the assistants behind the counter had to hold a mini-conference as they didn't seem to know what they had to do. His new passport took just over a week to arrive.
Anyway, just thought I would post this in case anyone else needs to renew or replace their passport. Cost is a staggering £72 now. |

Nugget - definitely one of our favourite resorts/areas too.

I'm just popping down to the shops - would you like me to bring you back a comic and some sweets? How about a bottle of Lucozade?

Hope you feel better soon. Try some baking powder in an evening bath - it will soothe and help you sleep. )
