Boots should be properly fitted.. don't know if there is anyone up in Jasper but Ultimate Ski and Ride in Banff (just beside the cinema) will sort out suitable boots. They will fit according to your requirements and can even soften up the flex of boots to suit you. You shouldn't just 'pick' boots off the rack, you are asking for it then. Also the Hawx 110 is stiffer than the 90(I think I misunderstood what you wrote?!). Why are the Z14s better? As for Salomon their reputation has taken a hit in recent years IMO with good reason. Frost, the Stormrider would be a pretty good fit, great for long cruisy turns on piste and can handle the powder as well. (Banff Mountain Wear in Banff stock them but I am sure you would get them cheaper online!) I am pretty sure Bandit/Ise has them so maybe they can come in here and give you the low down. |

You are from the West and looking for some hard pack skis... are you sane, man;)
Where abouts do you ski? My every day ski out there would be the Volkl Mantra for sure but that is a 96 waist.. especially with the amount of snow you get. |

Are they made in a sweat shop in Manchester too?

215, you will be looking for something pretty stiff with a longer radius (probably 15-20m). It will be pretty hard to get the groomer performance you are looking for with some powder performance thrown in. Length wise I would be going something in the region of 175-185 for a flat tail.. really any groomed performance is going to be compromised upon for powder performance so I would say get a stick for blasting the pistes and rent on (rare) powder days!
I have some Vist Superfront Twos which would fit the bill nicely but I won't sell.. maybe you can get a new pair? What is your budget? Apart from that I haven't really looked at a ski less than 90mm in a long time.. maybe someone else can give some suggestions. (Just had a thought, Stockli Stormrider?) How is that for a ramble  |

Are you thinking about getting back in to the powder or are you going to keep at the groomer skiing?
I would suggest the powder  How heavy are you? |

Kokanee Gold is what the real men drink 8)
Sleemans Honey Brown is excellent. Hopefully the under lying facets have disappeared by the time you are out and they can start opening the real terrain. |
