The Frog is legendary but not cheap and stinks!
Well, it is French

Actually I think its run by Scandinavian / Dutch people and staffed by Brits being ski bums for the season!

Have skiied all over Europe and N America and have no trouble with the French or anyone personally!

Ski from Val Thorens to Courchevel

Ive done this very think using only blues / greens and been in Courchevel 1850 for lunch (what a mistake that was)!

Coming back is slower due to lifts in Meribel and then there's the whole issue of do you come back via Les Menuires or straight for Val (problem with that is the Plein Sud run isnt ideal for beginners at the ned of the day as it can be carnage by the Folie Douce as it empties out)

How confident / competent are your group?
The green run down to La Daille is mental - give me "orange" or "ok" anyday!

Thanks all - I'll certainly give it a good look for next year

As I said - difficulty isn't so much a problem (it could be a black run home for all I care) just don't want dangerously crowded pistes around Mrs O.

As a side question is the accomodation mainly ski in/out ? I hate walking any distance in boots/carrying skis

Thanks again

Thanks for the considered (and considerate) views Tony, thats why I love these forums 8)

We too found exactly the same thing in Verbier, as it was the first week back on snow afetr my wife's accident she was freaked and weve been careful ever since

I think that SA may well be back high on the list for next year - though its funny you should mention Serre Che (a fave with one of my mates)....

That said much of the group fancies Whistler or Colorado so it may need 2 years of saving up......

Which resort has it all....

Andy - I have opened a new thread on the St Anton home run rather than hijacking this one.

All - the poster asked what resort did you think had it all. In my view, this is/may be a bit different from your favourite resort.

To get back to the question then - sorry

I'd go for VDI as being closest to perfection with the only down side being the costs (possibly if you're a heavy luncher or apres-er).
