Well, I never, rain has turned to snow in the later afternoon!!!!

I was very excited to receive my snow alert this morning; I raced to the webcams of my chosen resort only to see the rain falling!

Oh well, these things happen!

Cervinia - 1979 or 1980 - the female from smash hit combo Marshall Hain - in the hit parade with Dancing in the City - You Tube it, if you don't remember it. She was in the hotel bar.

St Anton - early 1990s - Ooo Gary Davies on your radio - a popular disc jockey who appeared on the national wireless at the time.

Pretty feeble, I know, but that's the best I can do in 40 years of skiing!

We've actually now settled on Reith im Alpbachtal with the option of Neustift/Fulpmes and the glacier at Stubai if the snow disappears.

Seriously, though, Tony although I'm a fan of Austria and have enjoyed St Anton, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Kitzbuhel and Solden in the past, there's something that doesn't appeal about Mayrhofen. I've no idea what it is, though!

That looks like a laugh and thanks for the info, but as I said earlier, we do not intend to stay in Innsbruck, preferring to be based in a village.
