Skiworld have withdrawn there ski hosting service, it seems the French authorities have no intention of waiting to hear the verdict.

Third day and a forecast of some weather coming in pm, so I decided to take my little group across to Courchevel 1650 and work our way back as the vis disappeared.
We got some fantastic runs in up above 1650, somewhere I've not done a great deal of skiing before. The snow started to fall about half 11, so we skied across to 1850 for lunch. Now I've recommended Ku De Ta several times, unfortunately this stop was a big disappointment. I think the restaurant has changed hands, what was an excellent value for money stop isn't anymore.
As the vis dropped we headed back using the tree lined runs, dropping back into our valley and the runs in the Altiport area, before heading home. Another great day.
First time in Courchevel early March

There are plenty of excellent value restaurants in Courchevel too.

Great first two days.
After a relatively smooth Eurostar journey, we hit the slopes at 9.30 and headed up the Pas de Lac and then down the valley towards the Altiport, some lovely runs on fresh powder topped runs. Then we went up Loze and over into the Courchevel valley, dropping down first into La Tania then later following lunch into Le Praz via the Jockeys black, which was fantastic. Making our way back towards Mottaret and our last lift at 4.10
Today the plan had to change several times due to the high winds shutting several of the top lifts. But we eventually got to La Masse via quite a round about route, only to find the top of the runs very wind blown and so we didn't hang around long. Lunch at the mid way point was great, an afternoon of reds, blacks and a bit of off piste finished off a great if a bit of a frustrating day. Though seeing that the forecast was for cloud and a fit of snow and we had quite a bit of sun, I'm not complaining.
The snow has now arrived, we'll see what it's like tomorrow. Glad to have two great days in the bag. Hope tomorrow isn't skiing by brail!

Andy, definitely keep a close eye on how the forecast develops but the models are all now going for snow on Friday, and possibly lots of it. It'll come in from the West during the course of the day so staying ahead of it would be a good plan...

If you don't know it, http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ is great for watching the weather systems come in. Bookmark that for Friday morning.

Looks like the main bulk of the snow will reach norwich late Friday into Saturday so we should be ok, never the less I'm going to leave an hour early.
Don't say that, I have trains to catch Friday!
Took me 2 hours to drive 7 miles earlier, Norwich was gridlocked.

Youre absolutely right. He comes across as trying too hard. His green baggy jacket was horrendous this week and whilst I prefer the more freestyle look to the traditional straight up and down skiing look, and I know hes a boarder, he reallty needs to stop pulling his trousers down to his hips and wearing silly loose hats.
And that beanie would look stupid on anyone, youre right.

I still wet myself when I listen to his boarder cross commentary from the olympics though.

Do you think he dresses himself? Or do you think a BBC stylist dresses him like that to appeal to the 'young snowboarder' demographic?

Wanderer wrote:I watched a good bit of the Womens Super G on Eurosport. They were in St Anton and the piste was very scary even where I was sitting . It seemed to me to much more evil that usual. Those girls are amazing - making fairly smooth turns on an icy course with the slope falling away from them while travelling at speeds of 115kph

There were 15 DNF's which I am guessing is way more than usual. Chemmy skied reasonably well and seems to be recovering form. While she was back in 27th, at least she earned World Cup points for that finish which is very important in terms of rankings, start numbers, etc. :D

That's our route home at the end of each day when we stay in St Anton, a couple of glühweins down the black and peel off to left on blue 24 to the chalet.
