I have a pair of mitts ...quite like them I wear a pair of undergloves with them as well they keep my hand warm enough ...mind you they did struggle in Tignes in Jan...-20 on the lifts...and as to gauntlets ..both my ski jackets have things on the wrists that prevent that...the most useful thing I have found is the elastic that keeps the glove on the wrist when off..stops you worrying when you want to get something out of your pocket on a lift and have to take your glove off
