J Webb wrote:Hi, has anyone got any words of wisdom about car hire from Geneva Airport (French side). We are travelling to Sainte Foy for a week in January 2014.

I always make sure that I hire from the Swiss side as all the vehcles come with winter tyres and snow chains at no extra charge.
The only down side is the bus ride to pick up your car.

brillips wrote:ian, just read your post with great interest. We are frustrated Australian skiers who have decided to spend some money and find some decent snow. Due to school holiday limits we plan to ski early Jan 2014. The resort you have written about sounds great but I am concerned that early in the season there may not be much snow. What do you think? Any other resorts in france, switzerland you could suggest for intermediate piste skiers.

thanks

I went last year on January 12th and skied powder every day, at that time of year it is very quiet so suited me down to the ground, plenty of skiing and snow should be pretty much guaranteed. The Aravis is a great place to ski
don't forget La Grand bornand just down the road.
If you decide to go PM me and I will try and give you some more information.
I can never find ski train tickets cheap enough when I look seem to come out more expensive than flying, now I have just got to organise another weeks skiing.
