they did not have the soft ear covers, the shell was hard all the way round including the ear bit. i found it difficult to wear my goggles with my helmet becuase when i got in my ski stance which is mainly bent over with your head lifted, then this pushes the on the back of the helmet which pushes it a little bit forward which in turn pushes your goggles further down your face than you would like, which in turn pinches your nose, which in turn made them steam up. I intend purchasing myhelmet for next years holiday and will problaby go for the type you have chosen but what i would do when i was in the shop is take your goggles along with you and when trying your helmet on adopt your skiing "stance" bend ze knees and lift your head up and see how comfortable it feels. Mine felt great in the shop when I was stood upright and didnt have goggles on with them.

hope this helps

thanks for that. I did take my goggles so I'm as happy as I think I could be.
The ear covers are lovely by the way, they're removable but I don't know yet whether I'll take them off. I'll decide on the mountain :D

I reckon Tony is the last person I know who would bow to peer pressure Ally :D I do wonder how many people will though.

I particularly liked the jump around 2'55 but I blinked the first time so had to rewind it to see it again
