I think ESF will be seeing a big drop in referrals from British TOs. The independent ski schools should do very well out of this.

It not the first place I'd recommend for beginners or intermediates, there are far better resorts for them, but for expert level skiers there is little to match it in Europe. The off piste is amazing, as are the itineraries.

I can recommend piste to powder for off piste guiding, had some excellent days out with them in St Anton, very professional.

Resorts you've been to that didn't quite live up to expectations.

I always do quite a bit of research before going somewhere, so I've very rarely been disappointed.
Only ski area which didn't quite come up to scratch, or at least the lift system didn't was portes du soleil. I loved the skiing, but the lift system was light years out of date compared to other big resorts at the time (about a decade ago). |

Chamonix is the one big European resort missing from ski cv, I'd love to go there at some point.

St Anton would be top of my list, there are few resorts to match the terrain for expert skiers.

Look forward to a report of how you find it, Scarletgirl. I'm off here for the first time in a months time.
