One of the main resorts in the world and your 4:46 run down only had 3 people in it who i assume were your group until you got to the bottom.

Yep, I think there was one other skier on the slope. You get lucky sometimes, not that anywhere in 3 Valleys was particularly busy.

I'd first like to see a response to the question I posed earlier: who and how is affected and would anyone seriously not to go France as a result?

The hosted days I have been on have always been well attended so I presume a lot of people will be, I doubt enough to make them stay away from France however.

Most operators have cut their capacity in the last couple of seasons, so it's only to be expected that with great conditions there won't be many deals.

If you want a great deal you need to be booking early for next season, Skiworld are currently offering 2-1 deals on lift passes, ski hire and ski carriage for 13/14.

Very few of them seem to actually know what they are doing. The good ones are great, and of course we all need to learn....but why rest in dangerous places? Anyway, rant over.......

We came up with the term, a 'plant of snowboarders' for groups of them sat on the piste.

A mate used to go into 'out of control snow plough' mode and head straight for them screaming as he went. Believe me they got out of the way when 20 stone of ex-para headed towards them!
He doesn't do that anymore, he's joined the dark side and now boards.

Boarding is the best thing that's happened for ski technology in the last 20 years.

I've got a lot of time for boarders, or 'gays on trays' as we like to rib them.

I haven't written it yet because I haven't had time. I might write it when I'm on the Eurostar on my way to France in a week's time, and I'll have my French dictionary with me to help, and nothing much else to do on the train.
I hope someone starts up a fighting fund to take it to the European Parliament, if it fails the Appeal in Chambery.

Le Ski's legal costs are being covered by a group of British ski operators. So don't expect this to be dropped.
For a couple of years the number of people in Freance having snowboard lessons has been dropping, while the number having ski lessons has stayed static.
Not a dying breed but not the 'in thing' anymore either. Ski technology has caught up and probably passed the point where boarding was scene as the cutting edge part of snow sports.
