its the natural fastest line around the gate for the ski but it leaves the body to cut across the pole-bloody hurts so it does!

I'm ok'ish on moguls it's the deep powder that does me in.

Just because you don't do well in powder, doesn't mean you're not a good skier. The same people on powder and the race course.

that is a brilliant clip-they did not look comfortable off the piste there at all!!

first guy was good though and they look so smooth round the gates!

AllyG wrote:A ski instructor told me that being able to ski with your skis close together helps when trying to get through moguls - which explains why I'm rubbish at it because I tend to ski with my skis further apart.

I would have thought very short skis would also be good - the kids seem to have no problem getting through them. I had to get through a mogul field in a lesson last holiday, and the moguls were huge - about the height of a kitchen worktop and really steep! The only thing I could do was sit on them and swing my legs and skis round (which is obviously not the recommended technique!).

It is another of the many things I need to get better at.

for moguls im pretty sure you are right that short skis are better but for powder its def longer=better (and fatter of course!)
