What's Le Corbier like for a season?

I went last Xmas, like Tony-H because of the seriously cheap price tag by Rocketski. Hotel was OK and food really good being only 100 mtrs from the main lift. You can ski right back to the door as long as there is average snow.....but the resort itself......quiet makes it seem busy. The whole resort is about 500mtrs long (mostly undercover for when it snows heavily) and has an outside pool. Mrs Baldy liked that v much , said it was sureal swimming in a warm pool while it was snowing all around watching skiers swarm into the "home area". The "very" local bit around Le Corbier is really quite small and to get further afield means a torturous long drag lift of about 2 kms. However, as Tony says there is a huge area to ski in and it is quiet. Because Le Corbier area is all grassland there are very few rocks around and so you don't need much snow to venture off piste.

Overall, and for the price I would def consider going again...after all the hotel has a bar and all the rooms had full sized baths...and for France it wasn't too expensive (prob 'cause the frogs go there.

Will let you know....I'm there 17th - 22nd Dec !!!
Sorry Tony...checked that first....Gatwick to Turin. Me thinks TO girly to lazy to sort. After all the customer is not ALWAYS right.
I was thinking of extending my Xmas Sking for an extra week by going to Serre Che. I will already be in Sauze D'oulx and asked if the transfer bus, which is picking up from Turin and thus passing the end of the road upon return, could either pick me up from Oulx or Montgenevre. I was happy to pay return flight costs.

Apparantly that is just toooooo difficult even though they will be dropping of customers at Montgenevre anyway.

Seems as though TO must be having it to easy!! They must be making to much money. Note to self: Must try harder :(

Def wait if you can. Prices are already being reduced with some companies offering 2 for 1 lift passes etc. If you are really brave just watch the sites and book the day before you go asking for a better discount....and remind the TO that an empty room is a room that does not earn any money!!! (but you have to be quite brave)

Last Xmas..booked late about 1st Dec...Flight fron Gatport Airwick, Flights, Half board, transfers,(total £309) ski carriage (£25), Full lift pass (£175). To Le Corbier, lots of snow and still £190 odd for airport parking, petrol from Devon and beer in resort. Result! )

Oh...and Serre Che would have only cost me £50 more!!
Some peoples idea of cheap is the same as others ideas of expensive. Guess it depends on how much spare cash you have! Me...expensive is anything more than £700 all in.
