Dorset Boy,
It's very kind of you to try and find me enough time to get out of Courchevel at lunch time, but I think I'm going to be pretty busy! I'm doing slalom lessons in English from 9.30-11.30 with esf 1550. Their meeting point is at 1850. Then I'm meeting up with my daughter's cousin, the one who's not so good at ski-ing, after her lesson, and ski-ing down with her to our apartment in 1550 for lunch. I'm collapsing with exhaustion at lunchtime, and eating and drinking lots of tea, and doing French revision. Then, my daughter will arrive after her lessons which finish at 13-40, so that she can ski with her cousin after she's had some lunch, and I'm heading off for my afternoon lessons back up in 1850 which start at 14-15 and will be in French doing the 'ski pleasure' class which I think means ski-ing around and having fun. So, I think I have a pretty full program already! Ally |

I like it when we're all being nice and friendly and helpful. I know no-one's going to 'shout' at me because I've mis-named a piste or said something silly.

Dorset Boy,
Yes I have asked them. I have phoned esf about several things, and that was one of my many questions. Unfortunately the answer was that it depends on the teacher, and the weather, and they advised buying the Courchevel one and then adding on as necessary. 2 years ago we had esf lessons in Val Thorens and we had one marvellous day where we skied all 3 valleys with our instructor, including going up Mont Vallon just because he liked the view and the long red run down. I'd really like to do that again, but they don't usually offer it - it was more of a special thing that he agreed to do for us and it was a full day trip. Ally |

Thanks, Dorset Boy. You mean, you think I should pay up for the full 3 V's 7 day lift pass? OMG that is going to be expensive! At least it's only for 2 of us. Our third party member has only skied one week before, so she can have the Courchevel valley one. The decision is complicated by the fact that I'm going to be ski-ing in lessons morning and afternoon, with only a bit of easy local ski-ing at lunchtime out of lessons. And my daughter is in lessons for the full morning, but in the afternoon she is going to be ski-ing with the one who's only done a week of ski-ing before. And on the 7th day, the Saturday, we are all going to be ski-ing together as there aren't any lessons. So it does depend really on what we need for the esf lessons. Ally |

No snow here in West Wales, but at least it's finally stopped raining - hooray! We were thinking about building an ark. Our forecast is dry for the next 5 days, apart from a bit of rain this evening.
I hope everyone going away on their ski holiday doesn't get held up by too much snow here. That would really be ironic, after all these weeks when everyone's been worried sick that there wouldn't be enough snow in the Alps or wherever they're going. Ally |

I would like a discount as well, please :D
I am trying to decide whether it's better value to get a 7 day Courchevel valley pass for 216 euros and then top up for a day to the 3 V one (22.5 euros) or get the full 7 day 3V one at 267 Euros. It is horribly expensive   Esf says we should be okay with the cheaper one for the lessons, but it would be very embarassing if we got stuck somewhere at a lift in a lesson because we had the wrong pass  And if we need the 3 V one for more than 2 days it works out cheaper to buy the full pass for the 7 days. The pound has recovered a couple of percent against the euro recently, so it might be a good time to buy lift passes. On the other hand, it might recover a bit more ... I have just paid the outstanding balance on our accommodation in euros. All that is left to pay are the lift passes (for 3 of us). Ally |

Hi Rose,
I could get the link to work, without all the writing. Why can't you just delete it? Or was it doing something else as well? I'm the last person to be able to tell you how to do something complicated like this - as I said, it took me 10 goes to get my first photo up! :D Ally |
