A great general workout that can be done with a single barbell for general core and leg strength:

Put a weight on the barbell that you can do 15 reps of squat press and perform the following with no rest between exercises:

15 x Squat press
10 x Dead lift
10 x Upwards row
10 x lunges (on each leg)
10 x Squats

Time yourself and have a 2 minute rest period and then repeat. You should repeat 3 times.

I'm seeing so many conflicting reports on the state of the weather over the Alps for the next 7 days. But one thing they all have in common is that the temperatures are forecast to barely reach freezing level next week, and Andy your completely right in regards to the the High pressure holding over the Alps. After studying pressure charts for Europe (when supposed to be doing work lol) the huge area of high pressure that has been holding strongly over the Alps for the last 10 days is forecast to weaken and replaced by a large area of low pressure coming in over the next week. Hopefully this low pressure system should yield some decent amounts of snow next week and also temperatures should return to the seasonal average after being so high for the last 10 days. But also on the whole France and Switzerland have had their driest period for 50 years. But the forecasts all point to one thing next week, low temperatures and snow! Let's keep the faith!

If you're not on real stuff at the end of January the whole of the European ski industry might as well give up!

I'm confident we'll be on real stuff in 3 weeks time.

I'm with you on this one Andy, I'm confident it will be completely different in December.

I'm heading to Courchevel on the 16th December and the webcams don't fill me with confidence. I have to keep telling myself a lot can change in 4 weeks! I've done a little research and the average temperature for the French Alps this time of year is 5 degrees so it is a little warm, but the forecast for the weekend and into next week is for the temperatures plummet and it looks like some decent snow may be on the way. Fingers crossed!
Night life - Courchevel Le Praz

I'm heading to Courchevel Le Praz in December and I was wondering whether the night life was any good? As I had heard that all the good apres-ski was further up the mountain?

This might be irrelevant but I had the same problem with Chambery to Les Arcs last year and then someone told me go on the airport website. So maybe try going on the Geneva airport website and having a look at whether there is a public bus service. Saved me a packet last year.
Flybe ski excess baggage

I'm paying £25 each way with easyjet this year! Absolute joke! Need to make my hold bag as light as possible as combined I can only take 32Kgs between the ski bag & hold bag, and I've gotta try and get 2 pairs of ski's and a hold bag under 32 Kg's. Got a feeling I might have to wear most of my clothes out there lol.
