Mine's set by the bank. It comes as part of a package with my account.

As I said above I'm always very well insured. I've paid the shop insurance for the ease of not having to go through the rigmarole of making a claim from my annual cover and to avoid the excess. The price is much less than the excess on my annual cover.
The worry is that there may be an excess the shop neglect to mention themselves. Then it becomes rather pointless. |

It's only to insure the hire equipment. They tell you that if you damage or lose it you're in for a huge bill. Pay them a few Euros insurance and that will be waived.
One of our party lost her skis a couple of years ago. She was gutted she hadn't taken it out. In 10 years it's the only time the group would ever have claimed though. |

I'm often offered Equipment Insurance from the hire shop. I usually take this out. Even though I have Trip Insurance. I've always thought it would be easier to deal with the shop itself using theirs and I wouldn't be left with a bill to 'claim back on return home. However I was naive and assumed this was 'full cover'. I've since been warned to check this as a lot of the time there can still be a steep excess. I can't ever remember being given the T&C's of shop insurance. I shall definitely be paying more attention in future
This year I have my EHIC, annual cover, I'll be getting one of these Carte Neige that have been recommended and considering shop insurance. It seems a little excessive but after a bad accident leading to a massive claim I'm a little over careful. The example on the first post shows how easy it is for even those who are careful to come a cropper for an equipment bill. |

Unfortunately I don't know what the danger from mobile phone masts is as there has been no peer reviewed scientific study to provide any evidence of a direct link to a rise of cancers, etc in their vicinity.
Google will give you many statements from people claiming that their illnesses, dizzy spells, headaches are due to the local mast being erected. This has never been reproduced in a blind study. Google will also give you the views of scientists who have studied the phenomenon and state they have found no evidence of harm. Unfortunately people suffer from cancer due to a variety of contaminants, living close to a mast or not. Statistics compiled using control groups do not indicate that masts provide any extra danger. It's a study that will continue, one which I'll follow with interest. However they are not proven to cause harm whereas passive smoking has been proven to. |

It's her decision, she can ask for advice but anyone pushing her towards either direction is unfair. If she is pushed into skiing when she'd rather not then I'd guess she's likely to be nervous. Making her more likely to fall. If she's confident with skiing there's no medical advice from her doctor to prevent her from skiing.
If she asked me I'd say go to resort, ski if you want to, relax and chill out if not. Take plenty of books and magazines! If anyone was pushing me either way I'd politely and firmly tell them I'd heard enough. |

If it hasn't got 'No Hot Ashes' on it it's obviously not a designer one.

Lol, I'm not bothered about wearing blokeswear! I just wondered why the best looking ones were all mens. I thought we'd come farther than that ;-)
Ian, can I have that part of my Dalek costume back now please? |
