Can you ski?

Yup! I always ski like a giraffe to start with ...perhaps its because I am thinking too much about what I am doing, looking at my skis, wondering if my boots are on tight enough, sorting my goggles out, faffing about in general
After a day or so I am just thinking "Oh lets go down here to that nice cafe" or "Wheres snowb4ndit got to this time!"

I love this time of year - There's a very good end of season atmosphere here, skiing in T shirts, bbq's on the go all around, live music outside and friends and parties and making plans.

I used to love the end of season vibe, totally different to the mid season blues or start of the season. But also sad to be coming to an end.

I agree with those thoughts, the end of seasons had a special ambience, fewer tourists, and skiing with lots of season-friends. A wide range of conditions to consider. T-shirts and shorts ski days.

End of season ski instructor race.

Jokes about when we got back to the UK, would we sign on the dole as "ski instructors", thereby ensuring no jobs would be made available. (These were just jokes, I always picked up an engineering contract within a couple of days of getting back)

A big feeling of melancholy on the day we had to set off home.

Even now, every 2/3 years, I go out for the last 3/4 days of the season.

I am hoping to get part time work as a postman again as I did before I came out this year. The money is rubbish but every day I did there was a day out here ....and the legs were like tree trunks after a couple of months doing that..
