Salopettes alterations
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 7 Replies
I had a one-piece ski suit (back when they were all the rage!) taken in by the person who did the alterations/repairs at a local dry cleaners. She told me she did quite a lot of similar work on ski clobber (I bet, by the way, you have ski trousers rather than 'salopettes' which are like dungarees with a bib etc!!)
Livigno or Bormio?

I'm looking at flying into Innsbruck, which is a much shorter transfer than from the Italian airports.
Livigno or Bormio?

Passo Tonale had the Roman emperor's thumbs down from the cogniscenti...so here goes with another couple of possibilities for a March 8/9 trip.

Livigno and Bormio - any thoughts, tips, preferences etc much appreciated (apart from 'go to La Thuile, Cervinia or Pila' suggestions!!!) -)

I will Ian, but it's more than likely that we'll go somewhere else. But as an old squadron commander of mine liked to say: 'time spent on reconnaissance is seldom wasted'.

Anyone have any views, pro or anti, about Livigno?

Thank you, I think! I've been to La Thuile and Pila recently - and Cervinia in the late 70s and 80s - so looking for somewhere new. However, from what you all say, Tonale has lots of drawbacks, although its altitude looks favourable for a March trip.

For one or two reasons, Passo Tonale has come onto my possibles list for a trip later this season. Has anyone been there? Any tips? Grateful for any advice (apart from the 'go to La Thuile instead' suggestions!)
I can't take any list seriously that discusses 'behaviors' instead of behaviour!

(And I wore proofed jeans on my first ski trip, to Italy, in April 1973. They were fine!)

That, Tony H, is the dreadful co-commentator John Clark. He may well have been an accomplished racer and coach but is utterly useless as a summariser. He never knows when to shut up and let the pictures do the talking. I have asked Eurosport to put a sock in his cakehole, but they have failed to heed my pleas!
