If the boy took to skiing, enjoys it and progressing I don't think there is a big danger of rebellion. With schools they always learn new things and do it different way too. I watched a group ESS lesson and kids were skiing all day on one ski. And after that there is a park or race coaching. Depending how parents ski there might be a rebellion that in a few years time he won't want to ski with parents. But when parents have to take a gondola down because something is a bit too steep they will feel better about their children skiing down when they know that their kids can do it all and will be OK. |

Very good for two weeks. He should continue the lessons. They learn really quick at this age and keeping him with school will make him a expert in a few years time. I disagree that technique shouldn't be pushed. Technique is central to skiing. Also there was a number of fatal accidents involving young children losing control on slopes this season alone. You really want your kid to be a capable skier. It's a massive safety aspect, especially since children usually ski during busiest periods.

Just check resorts web-sites. Should be plenty discounts around that time of a year.

No they are not. They simply state that chalet host is not allowed to host on slopes. If he wants to guide on slopes he would need to be qualified, regardless of where he comes from.

There is a link provided by SwingBeep and it says what EU have to say on the topic. I think it's very clear. Of course it means anyone, but they are still subject to local regulations. In this context being 'free' means that you are facing the same terms and conditions as the locals. |

That's why there are regulations like that. So that if TO together with tourists brings the while service personnel this personnel shouldn't be paid below local minimums. |

Thank you, SwingBeep!
Ally, social dumping is a serious issue. Tourism is supposed to boost employment in the host country, but you arrive at the situation where a foreign TO rents a chalet from the owner residing elsewhere and brings along all the personnel required to run it and sells it as a full-catering.. It cuts the locals out from being able to afford these job. |

Good luck with MRI! It sucks being injured. I just spent a month in a full-length knee brace and on crutches after dislocating patella. Will try to ski next weekend for the first time since January.
