Be carefull CLC, this is what keeps you alive.

Never lose it, just seek to understand it. As humans we have lost our sense for impending danger, we think that we can think our way out, your instict (bottle) is your best friend and has saved you many more times than you can possibly remember.

Dave Mac wrote:Tino, If distance is a target, you are doing it the tough way. I know you do weekends, so Saturday is a good day, (depending on resort), because it is changeover day, and there are few recreational skiers. OTOH, there is a lot of club and league racing and race training going on.

Sundays, though are deathly, since this is first day back on skis for many folk.

Do you find that you are getting the best milage when you get to know a run really well?

I usually do the day in 3 stints.

1. Find a set of linked runs I like and bomb them for 2 hours.

have a wee gluwein

2. Head for the furthest point I can get too

have a wee beer

3. Head back against the clock, and if I have time do a couple of low level lifts late on

This only works well in big resorts and not on limited area glaciers. That beig said my biggest day was in Zermatt with 55km and that was done mainly using 1 lift.

I haven't been to Saalbach for 37 years. What's it like now?

Have fun :D

Ally

Thanks, it's cold, very cold.

It's great, I really like it. Although staying in Hinterglemm I have only been out in Saalbach so far but will rectify that this evening.

Back early from snowboarding so I can have a massage, read my book and chill out for an hour or two.

Glad You like it. It's our favorite resort. It's odd as I wouldn't have put it down as a good snowboarding resort but we all know you're a closet skier really )

I think it's great for snowboarding, but as a begginner snowboarder maybe not.

Anyway I'm telling on you to Admin and Dave Mac, for being mean. )
