Never been to Borovets, but the general impression I get is that snow conditions are not great in Bulgaria early in the season. No idea about snow making. Would be a surprise if LDA has a year as bad as last year for snow.

Family of 4 (parents, 2 kids, 15 and 12) want low altitude resort (one of us has benign heart condition at altitude) for half term (daughter has exams after Easter so cannot ski Easter). TO prices are mental so doing DIY. Last 2 years been to Norway (and may well go back there).
All intermediates. Kids wanting to speed down reds and blacks. Parents wanting to pootle down blues and reds. Anyone got any suggestions for low altitude resorts which will be fairly snow-sure at half term and which are not too rammed? Thinking of some of the Austrian resorts. Is driving to Austria that much of a drag? I have done some epic drives across France in the summer (10-12 hour drives, with suitable stops). |
