I get the impression that the French like to DIY-it and not go for package holidays (happy to be proved wrong). I have not seen any UK TOs offering packages in the French Pyrenees.

Would be interesting to know how many lifts are likely to be open, too. I know a few places that have great snow in mid-December, but there will probably be very few lifts open (Scandinavian resorts, for example).

Wouldn't have thought you'd get catered chalet for anything other than a week. I would have thought that a hotel would be a more likely option. Plenty of places close to GVA. Depends what skiing you like

Good to see that Are is opening more lifts than usual, but let's see if the gondola opens. The Hogzon/High Zone is rarely open on account of the weather.
