That's the other odd thing about ski helmets. Mine's always getting hit by t-bar poles and chairlifts. I can't ever remember getting hit by one before I wore the helmet  |

Ooops :D :D :D |

But then it wouldn't be an Apres ski bar. It would just be a bar. DJ Otzi rocks by the way:D Austria's second biggest musical export after Mozart! |

One thing I will add, and this is something that I was accused of by a mate and at the time I rejected, you can get a bit of a false sense of security wearing a helmet. You will probably find yourself skiing a bit faster with the helmet than you were previously. This also happened years ago when I started wearing a helmet mountain biking. You feel just that little extra bit more indistructable - not always a good thing  but better than not wearing one - in my view.
Also, don't forget - you can lift your googles onto your forehead without them steaming up. You can store your gloves, buffs etc in one when eating lunch. They don't suddenly fly off at speed like some hats. Importantly, it's far less painful attaching a helmet-cam to a helmet than your head. Oh, you can also stick pink fluffy ears to them :(

If like me you're at the stage where you would feel a bit naked without a helmet and the weather was really hot then a bicycle helmet might make a lot of sense. There's generally a lot more ventilation on a cycle helmet. Obviously if it was cold then the cycle helmet wouldn't do much to keep you warm.
I would have thought Tony, that after your various encounters with skiers on Red 16 in Mayrhofen you would have been straight down the shops to get yourself a skid lid! |

Perhaps more useful on j2ski.mobi because you would probably only want to know that sort of timescale/detail if you were at resort? Don't know, just a thought. |
