Morzine for beginners?
Started by User in France, 4 Replies
Morzine/Avoriaz is a great place for learning. Les Gets is not as easy to get to for none skiers from Morzine.

There are plenty of green and blue slopes at Avoriaz that would really suit you. Whilst purpose built, Avoriaz is a very nice place, on a sunny day the views are fantastic!

I cant speak for vegetarian food in Morzine, however there are a lot of restaurants, many of which have a wide variety of food - pricey though!!

In terms of other activities, do they like hanggliding or parapeting (too old I guess?!). Morzine is a great town with loads going on. Local market on a Wednesday selling some great local traditional french produce. My mum spends a week none skiing when we go, so I would say yes. They can also get teh (ski) bus to Les Gets and Avoriaz and possiobly meet for lunch.

GO there, it is a brilliant place :D

What can be wrong with the boots?
dgou wrote:Does anyone else on this forum remember seeing On the Piste back in the 1980's - it featured two groups going skiing, there were the Downhill Only Club who went to Wengen in Switzerland (very posh they were too!) and the Thomson package who went to Soll in Austria! There were some real characters in the programme, most notably Kevin - who could not ski to save his life, and two hilarious ladies Brenda and Maureen who discussed their underwear (or lack of) whilst going up on the chair lift. I have this on tape and watch it every year before I go skiing, because it reminds me of why I love the alpine environment so much. I wish the BBC would repeat it, I have never seen friends who don't ski, laugh so much - it is priceless!! Every year I go, I always see a 'Kevin' and remember that I have improved somewhat considerably since I first started!

If I had £1 for every time I have watched this, or loaned it to friends, I could pay for a skiing holiday!!

Fancy making another £1?

I saw it, but just teh once. and remember it being so funny. But cant get hold of it anywhere
