Ive often idly wondered how you train for ski jumping as, it seems to me, the only way to train for jumping off a geet big ramp is to jump off a geet big ramp!?

I think you're mad/brave in equal measures and wish you well! (and Ive jumped off the Stratosphere Tower in Vegas so I'm no wimp but really.........)

Did a T-Bar last week on the glacier in VDI - the rep wanted to do it to gain maximum edge of map on one side before heading all the way to Tignes les Brev on the other

I'm not a fan of any sort of drag but wouldnt waste 30 mins to go round one
Which of these should I hire?

Just a note to say that I took the Xwings and they were all I hoped for

Ski Republic had them waxed and sharp and they never underperformed all week - unlike my technique!

Two falls in deep moguls were all they gave me and they certainly weren't the skis' fault!

thanks for the advice

Hi all

Just got back from VDI where my wife and I had a couple of private lessons:

The ironic thing was that he said my ski positioning was just fine and that my wife had her skis too close together for modern equipment!

We spent a lot of time decosntructing my old school "all action" turn technique and worked a lot more on carving the skis and letting the equipment do the work - worked very well as I came down the women's Olympic black run neither out of control nor knackered from working too hard!

Thanks for all the input into this thread!

I was there last week and it looked closed to me

Used "Chalet" at Rond Pont as our Apres haunt

And as for Dicks - I have no first hand knowledge from this week but I think we both know the answere is going to be YES
