The group of 2 persons just finally decided to ski in Garmisch coming winter :).
Now we are looking for good accommodation there for the middle of Jan and probably will stay here.

We are interesting in any information related to skiing in Garmisch e.g. where could we find information regarding ski buses, cable cars, prices for public transport, are ski passes cover all ski lifts in GP ski area, cable cars including Eibsee-Seilbahn and ski buses etc.
Pls replay to this post taking into account that we have never skied in the European ALps.

I've looked through the ski resort in St.Anton. It is really cool)

Is it possible to find a room (B&B) at St.Anton for 5 nights at some pension or private houses for not more than 50 EUR per room (for 2 persons)?
Or maybe it will be a good idea to stay somewhere in the neighborhood (I mean around 5-10 km) of the St.Anton and then take a buses or train or whatever everyday to reach St.Anton ski resort? Where I can find any information adout public transport there? Or this is not good idea?...

I'll arrive to Mem airport at 9 p.m. and the journey from Memmingen to Kitzbuhel takes at least 8 hours with several interchanges during the night - it's Ok for me but will be a little bit difficult for my girlfriend :(

approx 7 weeks :)
+ I skied each winter during my childhood :)

I skied in Slovakia and Ukraine before and never skied in the European Alps.
and I really want to organize a good and cheap enough ski vacation )

Hi,
I'll be in Memmingen in the middle of Jan'10, so I'm planning to ski somewhere not far from Memmingen. Oberstodrf is the most suitable place for skiing at this area as I understood.
Could you please help me: I have never been in Germany before so I don't know how to choose correct place for staying (i want to find apartments near ski lifts in order to be able to walk by foot to lifts. Or all apartments at Oberstdorf are far from ski lifts and I should take a bus/train?).
How I can minimize my expenses?
Or maybe it will be better to chose another place for ski? Something not far from Memmingen in Austria or other ski resorts in Germany maybe will be cheaper and suitable for me? I'm looking for intermediate/expert slopes.
