Helly hansen.

M&s are good, I worked there and got them free. Personally I don't wear thermals, find them far too warm. Pair of shorts for warm bum on chairlifts and maybe fleece top if it is chilly

There is a thread somewhere about what people wear - look in hardware section :)

My last meindl were about £150 soon that area. Walk about 15 mile a day across boggy moorland, up rocky mountains. Dont rate fabric ones. Last were leather with goretex lining. Tempted to go for same pair, but wondering if there is anything else out there

Andy - they are bloody comfy too!

Buying is like buying ski boots. Take your time, best for budget. They will treat you well

Must be having a good one :D

I've skied with a number of elderly people (let's say over 70 for sake of argument) over the years most memorably a 72 or 73 year old Canadian!
He was a padre in the Canadian Air Force, still serving/working, based in Germany.
3 pilots were staying in the chalet I was running and they introduced me to this guy.
Amazing!
I was in my mid twenties, skiing the full season, reckoned myself pretty good by then.
He skied the pants off me - completely.
I was humbled and amazed and inspired.
I'll never be as good a skier as him but do aim to ski well into my dotage.
Mind you I found out later that he had been in the Canadian Ski Team 50 years earlier.

I go skiing with my dad every year. This year he turned 70, whilst he is sensible at times we always have a great laugh. We also go hiking in Scotland and arran, age is only a number afterall!
