Bedrock - I do believe that the booze shop is now in Hemsedal town itself. Didn't go because we were happy with beer and the spirits we brought over in our luggage.

Norway is similar to sweden. Weak drinks (up to about 4.5%) are available in supermarkets. Otherwise it's the state shop which opens at v odd hours

The 2 scandi resorts (hemsedal and trysil) are only opening a few km of pistes to start with. LDA is open 5th December and should have a good few km of piste open.

I think it depends on transport situation. You can get a helicopter to l2a quite cheaply. Sounds odd, but true. I think there's a bus a couple of times a week to LDA. Don't know about serre.

Try asking the same question in Snowheads. There's someone on there who is an instructor in Japan.

Dan. Hope it's not quite like my local 'Spoons. Looked online at beer prices and they are cheaper than Norway. Might even have more than one drink out this year!

Dan, Bedrock - if you fancy meeting up in Are for an overpriced beer, just PM me. Cheers. Dobby

Dan55, sounds good. If you've not driven in Scandinavia before, then the drive will probably feel slow compared to the UK, but more relaxed. Good thing about Stockholm is that you'll have a good choice with flights. Flying into Trondheim it was one flight a day. Gets in a bit late too!
