BBR OR CHAM?

verbier_ski_bum wrote:Good choice with Scott. I liked every ski by Scott that I tried. Was totally unimpressed by BBR - too turny for my liking and type of skiing, I think if I needed 10m radius I would just get a slalom ski. I tried Soul 7 yesterday. Probably shouldn't have as I really enjoyed them and I have enough skis already so should avoid buying anything for at least 2 seasons.

I liked the BBR because it was turny!
Just goes to show why we need such a wide choice in skis.
Definitely going to try to get on the Soul 7 next week.
The snow conditions in Serre Chevalier look like there will be all sorts of every possible type of snow to play around on and in - perfect.

Late March Resorts

Any of the French higher resorts......
Probably look for village above 1500/1600m with good high level skiing available in case of a warm spring.

Tarentaise - From Three Valleys, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Val D'Isere or Tignes.
Maybe Les Deux Alpes worth a look - the intermediate stuff is all high up, just the run back to resort can be a bit iffy for some.

Loads of others to choose from in Switzerland, Italy and Austria. But I ski in France as a rule.

I would make sure that there are no connections through lower lying resorts at the end of March.

They look a really interesting ski - hope you absolutely adore them when you get on the snow.
:)
There has been an explosion of fantastic sounding skis in this all mountain, good on nearly everything, type of ski recently - we are spoiled for choice!
I fancy trying to Soul 7 next week.

Diary of a knee injury

Ranchero_1979 wrote:My mum would be proud, bad genes or malnutrition. Am pretty sure knee is aligned as have been in and out of physio, could it be knee brace on that side? Regardless we were not working on knock knee, mainly of trying to ski faster/more dynamic, playing with angles, behavior of upper body and ski contact (for/aft pressures). Video and then watching frame by frame is definitely a good way to relate to what is actually going on. Some new drills to play with today which should be fun for a few hrs.

You might be onto something with the knee brace thought.
Anecdotally.....
I was wearing a brace last year for a minor left knee problem.
After the first day I found my "good" knee struggling and so put a brace on both knees for the rest of the week (I had taken a strong brace with hinges and metal and a softer one with plastic bands for support).
Wearing a brace on both knees seemed to balance me up much better.
