Its the same size apt but the nice lady on the phone said we would have a pool ( pools outside and its winter or pool at another hotel) which she didnt really tell us that bit in the brackets just we would have a pool. Its slightly futher away from the Gondola on the map and there looks to be a bar under the apts.

Do i have any say?

Hi,

if you had already paid the money for the holiday, and there isn't a clause in the agreement stating you may be equired to change apartments in the event of something happening, or that the person/company reserves the right to move you, they haven't got a leg to stand on.

As far as the pool goes, they have not told a lie about having one ,but they could be liable for wrongfull advertising by not telling you it is outside (unless it is heated and is meant for all weather/and time of year use).

Once you have made payment, and have have/have not signed accepting any terms and conditions (as long as you haven't signed anything to that end) then if they want to move you they must make it worth your while and compensate you in some way.

Mind you this is all ok if the people/persons you are dealing with is a UK comany etc ,if you have booked direct with a company/or person abroad this may affect your rights as a consumer.

Tell em if they want to move you ,after you have already paid you will require a substantial discount (also check if they are ABTA registered.

Best of luck

:D :DYippeeeee

Open the front door and stand in the sunshine and look up at Les Arcs (not always a good sight first thing in the morning, me in my boxers ) while the kettle boils, then soem grub to stoke the boiler.

Once dressed and ready to go......do i take the healthy option and walk the 2 - 3 mins to the funicular or drive?, drive it is , as we dont want to waste valuable skiing energy do we, then it's up to the white ,winter playground and away we go till lunch

Magic :D :D

The cost of skiing
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 77 Replies
Hi,

The costs do seem to go up, mainly due to the Carbon Con i think (but i could be wrong) and if the skier numbers are down the resorts and associated companies still want their profit margins.

I am lucky and fortunate that the accommadation costs are not a problem, but i have seen a upwards creep in all the other prices.I will be going out to BsM next week for some R & R ,and will see what the new lift passes will be,last season a 6 day pass was about 203euros/152.50euros Adult/Child respectively.....which 2 to 3 years ago with a decent exchange rate was ok ,but with the £ and Euro one for one virtually this is the most crippling thing for families I imagine.

I think the way forward to keep prices down is to look for accommadation just outside the resorts ,and if possible somewhere that has a direct link, more often than not the Hotel/Apartment costs are slightly lower......also deciding whether to go fully catered/half board or self catering is more of an issue than it was before.

Once we are lumbered with the Euro things will only be more expensive i think as evryone cashes in by putting their prices up to catch people out.

I suppose in the end it will just mean a few more hours hunting around for the best deal at the time.
