We need to install a minor update this evening and will be reloading the forum at around 22:30. The forum will be offline for only a few seconds but if you're logged in at the time you will be disconnected and will have to log back in again.

Milder temperatures in The Alps brought a little rain to lower slopes this week... but more snow arrived at altitude.

Scattered snowfalls have been reported right across Europe and Scandinavia, and in the United States and Canada a steady stream of resorts have been opening their slopes for the first time.

Weather and Snow Next Week

Temperatures look set to remain above their seasonal average for the next week or so, which is not unusual and no reason to worry! The general outlook continues to be unsettled, with a good possibility of further snow at altitude for many locations.

This coming weekend should see fresh snow high up (above 1700m) for many resorts in Austria, Italy and Switzerland.

I think you think I meant the "Latest Chat" icon... but you should think I think I meant the page that you see when you press that... i.e. the list of latest posts (with all their bright shiny new icons).

TVM - I'm thinking the "Latest Chat" list is now looking a little garish myself, but otherwise good.
