Hi guys. For the past 5 years we have skied at Sunshine either Easter ir Christmas or both. I love Banff National Park, and as we hire a car, we dont just ski but also drive out of town taking photographs etc. This year my OH is saying he doesnt want to go 'again'- i need to convince him somehow. Knowing that we enjoy Banff and the Nat Park, is there an area in the East that we could try instead? Ski wise, we are just beginner and intermediate so dont need loads of hills.
Can anyone help? We would be travelling end March, first week April. :D |

Sooo envy you!! Hope to be out there at Easter as we have been fr the last 4 years. Awesome place! No worries re eating in Banff - loads of places in different price ranges. Best fixed price value at the Old Spaghetti House above the mall, good breakfast at Melissa's, big ribs at Bumpers Beef at the top of town, snacks and the game at Chilli's, and coffee and donuts for the hill at Tim Horton's at the bus station. I can't wait!!

Hi,
It's nearly winter!!! Yay!!! My OH and I are considering a bonus ski hol (we always go to Sunshine at Easter) in October and I saw that Loveland, Co. possibly has a season which starts in October sometime? Is this likely this year, and if so, do you reckon there would be a coupla runs that I could do? I can do Strawberry and Wawa no problem at Sunshine, but otherwise a bit nervous. jojo ) |

Hi all,
Thanks for this. I joined J2ski last year - it's a great fix when you're waiting to get on the hill! I'm not a very good skier but am just crazy for the space and the vibe..... and Canada (we have been six times in the last 3 years - three for skiing). Thanks for the info re boots - my other passion is my horse, so I know about getting the right stuff and not just what is cool at the time. But I really do find it really bad walking in the boots, even just gondola to hill etc. This makes much more of an impact on me even than the sore muscles from days skiing. Any ideas? Jojo one life, many chances |

Hi all,
This year I'm looking to be treated to new ski boots! :) I have skiied for several years in a pair of ex hire boots that have been fine except that they have no capacity for opening the back angle when walking so walking anywhere is excruciating as I have some knee problems. :( I am a novice skiier (been going to France and Sunshine for 5 years, but lack confidence) of average height, weight (and income!). I will have a proper boot fitting of course, probably in Banff (at Ultimate Ski?), but just wondered if anyone has any good recommendations or info? Sunshine in Banff is my favourite place in the galaxy!! :D Thanks loads jojo |
