Nah, you win some you lose some. I tried valiantly and failed on this particular one. Hence the outright ban. :)

Ade, no I don't know how much it would be, but MrEvs has expressed an interest in spending a day in one of the nearby resorts (Tony_H button it). I think there are several within a reasonable taxi distance. Maybe DaveMac could help us here when he comes back.

The facilities in the hotel are second to none for a 3 star. I've not managed to find anything comparable anyway.

P.S. yes it was the price, although I do realise that the guesthouses are a bit less. Plus MrEvs seems to seize every opportunity to spend more money with enthusiasm!
Merry Christmas and a happy new year

Wow, for the price some of that stuff looks good. Handwarmers @ £1.49? Cheap as chips!
Ally, thanks. 1) For the list - I will be looking at it when I eventually continue packing. 2) for the thread link, I read through everything from the list onwards and it was fascinating, particularly the part on piste safety which covered a lot of my own thoughts an concerns 3) for the tip on not putting socks on the radiator as that was exactly what I was planning to do!
Ally, I'll be working on your system when we get back and merging it with DaveMac's standing lists. It's been difficult to do that until now because we've been learning about kit and so last year's stuff isn't necessarily what we'd have taken this year e.g. tube socks have now been relegated to cosy house socks :D

MrEvs keeps giving me a row for trying to pack cos he's unsuccessfully hiding the fact that he's bought me a couple of things that will need to go in. I've given up now and left everything in a mess to see how long it takes to get on his nerves

Not all men are male chauvinists

I absolutely agree Mr W. Under normal circumstances MrEvs probably does more laydee chores than I do. Unfortunately when it comes to packing bags he waits until 10 minutes before we leave, then goes around the whole house picking up every item in sight and dumping it in the immaculately packed bags which hold a fine balance of just enough, but not too much stuff. Said bags are then screaming at the seams, and on arrival I unpack and find 4 x deodorant, 3 x toothpaste, 25 x pants and socks, 4 x pairs shoes etc etc etc etc. And that's just for a long weekend.

He's now firmly banned from even looking at the cases, and only has access to a list  I will be ramping up security the closer we get to departure, and am honing my rugby tackling skills ready

Smith_ade I wish I hadn't read your post  We will be arriving on the same day. I was a little over enthusiastic with the Fake Bake last night so to recognise us just look for the person with the most unlikely winter tan
