The original ski holiday group started by AllyG for the 2013 trip has a total of 29 beds filled for this year in two centres in the Dolomites. This trip wasn't publicised on J2Ski as the first (small) hotel was full by the end of May and the second hotel by late summer.
This is our 6th consecutive year of a very successful ski trip. We have been to France twice, Italy three times (including this weekends departure) and Austria. Who knows where 2019 will lead us? Somewhere definitely as the trip is already being discussed. From this years crew there are three totally new bods and about half the group were on the first trip in 2013. Only 6 have managed all the trips - "life" does occasionally get in the way (beware of parenthood!!). |

Dear Admin - how do I flag this as an inappropriate post??
You have caused considerable mental distress to many readers.......... |
|
I note you are careful not to suggest you can ski with them..... |

Could you ask where the boots were bought?
If from a shop close to home it could be worth going in before you wear the boots and asking for an opinion on size from the boot technicians. |

I have a rough idea of what I am looking for and then see what the shop has available. I don't accept the first ski pulled out necessarily, it's about having a chat about conditions, terrain and, in my case, how fit I am feeling.
Getting the "right" ski makes so much difference to enjoyment. I had an odd week's skiing a couple of years ago where the hire shop (Skiset) was in the hotel. The guys were great and I tried out about 6 different skis that week which was a real learn for me. Ski choice is always a compromise as conditions change from day to day and morning/afternoon. I try to get something that will make the hardest skiing (whether ice, slush, powder) I am expecting easier!! |

Only 3 weeks this year? Getting old........ |

Have a look at Serre Chevalier Icy. Access depends on location but much is near the first lifts.
Also I was very taken with Alpes D'Huez - the best easy run area I have ever come across plus plenty more challenging that is close enough to meet up with the others for lunch & drinks. |
