Andy, just to say I appreciate the trouble you have gone to to write this report. Serre Che is on my list of places to go, so your info helps enormously. Off, however, to Skiwelt week after next, so Serre Che will have to wait until next winter. Great report !

Thanks for that Coops; sounds like you're having a great time out there. Looking forward to your update. Will let you know where we finally end up, but hopefully will make you just a teeny bit envious (as I am now of you !)

Hi Coops: what sort of elevation are the slopes, as I'm planning a trip for the last week of March so would be interested to know the likely conditions. Thanks.

Although I am not planning to participate in this survey, I would just like to commend Pavel for taking so much time and trouble to offer a wealth of sound advice. A consultant would charge real money for that kind of guidance !

I stayed in Tignes les Brevieres last May (yes May!) for the last week of skiing in Tignes itself. Of course, the snow in les Brevieres was long gone, but I was in my car so driving up to le Lac at the start of each day was no real issue. I would recommend the first week of May for a quiet time in Tignes. It's the last week of their season, so all the lifts are open, but there are few skiers around so you have the luxury of the well-groomed slopes to yourself, even if the lower ones get a bit soft by late afternoon. Oh, and the big car park in le Lac was free !
