Ranchero. I couldn't disagree more. In my very limited experience of being "hosted", the host made it clear that he was not a teacher and that he was only showing you around the pistes, and actually referred people to the ski school.

Keith. Resort website suggests you need snow chains. Cannot find anything on website about parking, but the resort operates a car sharing scheme.

I have no personal experience, but the gen appears to be go sooner rather than later - better skiing in July than August generally (unless there's been a big dump). LDA is the one resort I have skied that offers summer skiing - summer runs there are fairly gentle blues but good for developing technique.

Flight prices aren't going up either (sweeping generalisation, I know). I waited recently before booking some flights and the price was lower post-Brexit vote than before
