Yes bandit - glacier resorts will have skiing. As long as the punter knows that skiing into May will be on limited slopes with limited lifts open then great.
I'm in Tignes for Easter w/end and the week following. The links to Val D'Isere are open until beginning of May, but I don't expect the whole resort to be open. |

I've never understood the rational (if there is any rational) for funding for relatively minority sports such as skiing and boarding.
It seems to be based on the current whim of someone in the funding body. I certainly don't understand the basis for the funding of the various sledging events and curling compared with skiing/boarding. Is it something about the likelihood of a gold medal at Olympics and World Championships? I would have thought that there was considerably more "interest" in competitive skiing and boarding from the public than for curling and the skeleton? It seems a bit of chicken and egg to me - we get so few skiers in the world top twenty that it doesn't seem worth funding ...... Ah well .... |

Hang on - after Easter this year? Easter w/end is April 23rd/24th and so very late. Many resorts will try to keep some skiing for this w/end but will then close after Easter Monday. 16th April to 23rd April will see considerably more availability than the following week. Skiing after Easter this year will be very limited. |

Snowing decent amounts across the Tarentaise. Tignes getting useful amounts, Courchevel too, but not sure down to what level snow is falling.
