Thanks Ally. I booked today for Obergurgl and I'm really looking forward to it. We go in a few weeks.

Thanks Bandit. That's what I thought. Unless there's a really compelling reason for choosing Hochgurgl, I was veering towards Obergurgl as it's bigger.

Anyone think one is any better than the other for nervous novices with a few weeks' skiing experience? Am looking at booking either the Olymp hotel in Hochgurgl or the Jenewein in Obergurgl, decision to be made quickly as I need to get on with it
We like to be fairly near ski schools or beginner slopes and don't mind lack of nightlife as long as we can have a few relaxing beers of an evening. Allie |

Hiya. We put ours into our hold baggage. To save space, we stuff them with small bits of clothing, such as rolled up socks. We also make sure we pack a layer of clothes above and below the helmets to cushion them against impact from the cases being dropped by baggage handlers. We take 2 cases and put a helmet in each. Our cases are quite deep, so the helmets fit ok.

My husband did a spectacular face plant 2 years ago in Filzmoos. He looked like a snowman as the snow had stuck to his beard and hair  Unfortunately I didn't get a pic.

Thanks everyone. I was just looking at the calendar and realised that because of the public holiday for The Wedding on Friday 29th April and our school being closed until Wed 27th April, we could go away that week and only miss 2 working days. :D
