To the dude who one starred my post.. it was probably the most informative thing I have ever written. I even posted you a webcam shot (which updates) so you can see how much snow there still is.

This place is absolutely rockin'. I paid €11 for a large beer (half litre) and a cheese sandwich. Oouch.

Banff.. gives you three resorts-Sunshine, Lake Louise, Norquay plus easy access to numerous others.
Edit: Banff is an excellent town, plenty decent nightlife! |

Were your boots properly fitted? Who did them? Just because you had them professionally fitted does not mean they did it correctly. Some times I get numbness in the arches of my feet and calf stretches sorts it out..
Remember you are going from spending 51 weeks of the year in shoes that aren't very supportive to some of the most supportive/best customised footwear you own... you can expect some discomfort. |

I did the DFDS to Sweden when I was younger and it is fine, no bad memories! I think it is because the Stenna Line thing goes so fast.

Yeh I do my boots up from the top working down.. the bottom 2 only over enough so that they don't pop open again. Sometimes I won't do the bottom 2 for an hour or so until I am warmed up! Nah, the tongue on my boots is sometimes a bit squint if I don't pay enough attention in the mornings!

Thanks Dave! I wonder how many Dave's we have!?
You going from Harwich to Holland? I have done it before and it was an absolute nightmare in that Stenna Line cat thing? |

The tongue on my boots irritates if it is not straight. WHen you put your boots on start with the power strap (velcro at the top) and tighten it a bit, flex forward, see where your shin is going and place the tongue as required. Do up the cuff buckles and repeat.. then do up the power strap to the required 'tightness' and just make sure it is straight again.. do up the rest of your boots! |
