154 days ....
Cycled to the shops! Yoghurt for breakfast ... Taking it seriously this year  |

Monstrously embarrasing I know. I am a failure  He started with great promise but has been seduced by beer and girls .... Never mind - huge financial saving! |

155 days to go Woo Hoo
Panic over, having booked a nice hotel in Serre Chevalier next March. I have been keeping quiet about next years skiing as for quite a while I didn't think I would get out. In May I was sorted - going with my big sis, somwhere good skiing and low season. Then disaster! She is falling to pieces, poor lamb, and having a hip replacement, so skiing would not be the best idea next year - but, as she says, in 2013 she will be fit and raring to go again. Son - offered a ski trip either Xmas or Easter - he said NO  This is so embarrassing - a son who doesn't want to go skiing. My wife doesn't ski, but does love the mountains, and we have some lovely hols together where I ski and she does her own thing, with lots of meeting up for drinks and food etc. But we have other holidays planned for next year. The home climate changed about 10 days ago and I didn't hold back but got the planning etc in place - sold her on the trip and booked it! Relief.... Too late for her to back out now. All that is left is to tell her I have booked. |

Interesting conversation with a tour agent just now as I booked my holiday (Serre Chevalier next March) ....
Now, I know I am extraordinarily picky about my skiing holidays both in accomodation and travel arrangements, I want exactly what I want! Having a chat whilst processing and I was told that bookings have been coming in fast and furious for the last week or two after a very quiet "start". One thing led to another and we were talking about tour operator availability. This is where the less available came up and it makes sense in the present financial climate. Seems like there are less "confirmed" room allocations in hotels from major operators - so if last year they took 10 rooms for the season, this year it is 5 or 6. And flight availability seems down, particularly for regional airports. Wondering what other peoples views and experience has been? I'm sure that there will be "offers" and late booking deals and I am talking about mainly hotels and self-catering availability rather than chalets and British run hotels ..... Interesting ... :?: |

Sorry bbdano but I don't think you will get much for these.
I did a search, never having heard of them, and it looks like they are very low budget nordic or cross country skis. Someone was selling them for $29 (US). Where do you live? Location might help you get a bit back for them, but I doubt there is much market for something like this. |

I think we need to know more of your plans on this one Snow4ndit.
Is the idea to run a skiing/holiday business? Or somewhere great to live where you can ski a bit of a drive away? |
