Whats the score with contact? Can you just wipe out your opponent?

You can ski into the back of someone.
You can ski into the side of someone, from either side, take him out if you feel so inclined.
You can deliberately slow down, so the guy behind you crashes, trying to avoid you.

Put good management in, along with good athletes, and good facilities, and you will increase the chances of getting medals. Spend money wisely.

I had this op 5 years ago. Saw the consultant in June, told him I was going skiing mid January. He indicated a recovery period of 13 weeks prior to skiing, but not to worry, he assured me my op would be completed in plenty of time. In September, I caaled the relevant hospital dept. A secretary was quite dismissive, that I was not a priority, and the surgeon was in no position to arrange case dates.
"Fair enough, which department do I send the £3000 holiday bill to? A family holiday that was booked on the say so of your hospital representative", I enquired.

The next day I received a phone call with an operation appointment. That appointment left me with just 12 weeks. I had to ski conservatively, but I was OK-just. I did let my insurance company know.

The downside of a hernia op failure is that the operation will have to be repeated.

Trencher referred to the amount of skiing that a recreational skier would be doing. I agree there is that co-relation. Then there is the type of conditions.

I carry out a mixture of planned and re-active maintenance. This avoids too many base grinds, thus lengthening the life of the ski.

Sometimes, up to 26 years. -)
