i can however already see that N could be quite limiting for the very profficient skiier....but it´s enough for me and the wife this week for certain...and next year hopefully too!!!

I was there that evening TSG, was that you doing a schoeplatter dance? -) Who was your instructor?

Hi Dave, you were at the presentation nite at the harfenwirt?
My instuctor was Sepp, not the one on the mic with the glasses...he's the ski school head i think...the other Sepp, he got me up to play the cowbells!! great laugh
And i managed that gold medal i so craved!...missed out on 3rd place and a trophy by 0.3sec

That's short notice TSG, if you get online where are you staying?

The conditions here are fantastic just now.

Hi Dave, we are staying at pension enzian next to the hannes. not been out in the eveings an awful lot....too tired after ski school!! :-)

Off down the cave bar now though to catch the united city game.
Just wanted to leave a post to thank all those who have pointed me in many directions over the last few weeks and given lots of invaluable information to bear in mind before the wife and i embark on our first skiing holiday tomorrow.

We eventually decided that we would go to Arinsal, Andorra

.....but are off to Niederau, Austria instead! (dont ask!)

i'll be back in a week, bones intact i hope, and with pictures and tales to share

Happy skiing everyone!

Your concern has been noted...

Hey all,

Can anyone tell me what the evenings are like in Niederau, and recommend anywhere we should spend some time?

Hi Billip, I've just booked a week in Niederau leaving on the 23rd Jan. The wife and i are complete beginners like yourself and have booked the learn to ski package through Crystalski. it includes ski/boot hire, lessons and a 'beginners' lift pass (The other option was 'whole area' lift pass which i imagine allows you to go over to Oberau or Auffach and ski there). Just wondering if you could tell me where your lift pass covered you for, and whether it was in any way limited? Would it only allow you access to some of the lifts?

Nice to read that you had a great time also....getting us all excited!
