Which tour op and airport is it?

They're called 'Ski Solutions' and flying from Gatwick. I dont reckon it'll be a huge issue, its just a pain in the bum.

Booked my skiing holiday on a last minute deal about 3 weeks ago. Supposed to be going on Saturday & the tickets STILL havent come through!

How annoying is that!

"oh it'll be ok etc" but how often do you have to have the paperwork before they will let you on teh flight or the transfer bus or into the Hotel.

ARRGH!!!

3 days left...

Ahh ok, well I did have Panda-eyes after the holiday so they must have done a pretty good job of blocking the sun.

When would you watch all this stuff? No time to spend looking back in time.

It comes with a set of leads for plugging directly into a TV to 'preview' the stuff. Otherwise you upload it to your PC after the holiday when you're stuck in work & dreaming of zooming down crispy mountains :)
I wore contacts last time I went skiing & had no problems at all with sun glasses (until I crashed badly & snapped them to bits :) )

Both goggles and sunglasses are fine.
I did wear the ski / cycling type sunglasses which have a bigger lens area that kind of wrap's around your head a bit & these were fine for keeping the wind out of your eyes

This sort of thing:

Play Hard, Record Everything!

The Extreme Cam is a digital video camera that enables the user to capture video clips of their sports activities, including skiing, snowboarding, cycling, mountain biking and any other active sport.

After capturing footage, you can replay the video clips on a television, or edit the movie on computer and share the video clips with friends through an internet connection. You can also save the footage back to the console for transport.

The ATC-2K is a video camera only, it is not possible to take still photos.

The ATC2000 will record varying amounts of footage, depending upon the memory card size and quality of video. For example, at 30 frames per second at 640x480, the camera will record 60 minutes of footage to the card. If however you reduce the quality of the recording and use 15 frames per second, it is possible to record up to 794 minutes of footage.

Please note that the ATC-2000 requires a high speed branded Secure Digital card for external storage.

You are on a ski forum.. most of us manage a couple holidays or get our skiing fix elsewhere. Some of us live in the snow also

Is this a ski forum?? hehehe

I'm jealose, I'd love to be able to ski more often, I'm hooked. Funnily enough I live about 1/2 a mile from a dry slope (Wycombe Summit in High Wycombe) but it burned down a while back & they havent startyed rebuilding it yet.

I know, I know, dry slope isnt anything like a real slope but they are plannign on building an indoor slope (liek Snowdome) and also using snow cannons on the outdoor slope in winter so that you've got almost a real snow to play with. PERFECT! Just need them to get their arse in gear & build the bloody thing now :)

DUnno about the whole carving debate, but I know that I can have more fun, goign faster on bigger steeper slopes with more control if I use a carving ski than using classic skis

Cheers,
Lee

carving ski's make intermediate skiers ski faster than their capabillity

isnt that the point of carving skis though? I'm a very crap beginner but even I've found that as long as I turn sharp enough I can slow down enough to be under control. I managed to get down red slopes after a few days using this technique and only had one unavoidable crash-ette with a poor soul who miraculously appeared at the end of one of my turns.

Apparently it was that much harder to carve on classic skies so that woudl have meant more time on eth slopes to get to a reasonably competant state but in this day & age, who really get chance to do more than 1 ski holiday a year?
