Weather this week

I ski'd in march a couple of years ago from scheffau in skiwelt. Enjoyed it so much, I'm going again on 3rd mar, like in 9 sleeps. Snow was great up top, all way down to middle station. Snow was still skiable all the way down to bottom station, but got progressively sugary. Even managed to ski through to westendorf. Any skiing' s better than no skiing. Days are longer, pistes less busy, and less need to get completely togged up. Take your cosi, last time I ended up sunbathing on the balcony in me shreds.

So, we've got sugary snow, porridgy snow, fluffy snow, sticky snow; how many other descriptions of types of snow are there out there.

If their god really cared that much would (s)he not have designed a stronger head or inserted a common sense gene?

Unfortunately, the common sense gene that we should all have, just isn't that common. You've only got to see the amount of people who still insist on using mobile phones while driving to realise that perhaps a laboratory grown gene should be surgically implanted somewhere that can't be mentioned here, to those who lack common sense.

People should be sensible enough to assess the risk, and have the freedom to make their own choices, and be prepared to accept any consequences. Sure someone will provide correction if I'm wrong, but I don't believe it's law for adults to wear helmets (in Europe) yet.

Got my oh one. She has a nice warm helmet to keep her smiling!

Fnarr..Fnarr.

I've been a confirmed lidder for a few years now, but would rather be soft top. Seem to recall that there were some stories doing the rounds about "liquid armour" which is based on Shear Thickening Fluids tech for building into beanies, bobbles and the like. Would make the decision between a hard hat vs soft top somewhat easier, and means that safety doesn't have to be compromised too much. I know there will be many views, such as a beanie can come off during a fall, etc, etc, (usually not until after the first impact) but such beanies/bobbles would offer more protection than they do at the moment.

17 sleeps in own bed, till Austria, and if I can blag it, a ski-appetiser on Sat pm. Got really excited this week when TO sent another set of ski hol tickets, thought OH was surprising me with another ski trip, but no, was just duplicates of originals.
