I've done swimming shorts
No ski gear - just socks and glasses (and boots and skis and poles of course!) as did some girls (in girl appropriate swim wear - not just shorts!)
Also ....
Full Father Christmas rig - including big sac.
Covered in flashing fairy lights - powered by a battery in a ruck sac.
Dinner jacket and bow tie ....
(in the company of a couple of girls braving the snow in cocktail dresses)

Aaaaah - the joys of alternative sanity

My son and his mates skied in morphsuits!
I didn't see it unfortunately (school trip)
They couldn't see very well - much to the amusement of others.

Iceman wrote:Is it all artificial snow tho?!

That snow a couple of weeks ago covered the run and a few brave souls were seen on it.
But ...
A gap appeared on the bottom bit. So the run has been augmented with artificial as it is now officially open.
So it is half and half.
But who cares !!
it is a non glacier run back to the resort and it is being used

Bought some Scarpa Trionics in 1985 - went everywhere, UK, the Alps, Africa ....
Still going strong but a friend has them as my feet changed a bit and they no longer fit

He did not show his face at 4pm as I predicted :(

Must be having a good one :D

I've skied with a number of elderly people (let's say over 70 for sake of argument) over the years most memorably a 72 or 73 year old Canadian!
He was a padre in the Canadian Air Force, still serving/working, based in Germany.
3 pilots were staying in the chalet I was running and they introduced me to this guy.
Amazing!
I was in my mid twenties, skiing the full season, reckoned myself pretty good by then.
He skied the pants off me - completely.
I was humbled and amazed and inspired.
I'll never be as good a skier as him but do aim to ski well into my dotage.
Mind you I found out later that he had been in the Canadian Ski Team 50 years earlier.
