Best wax for skis?

Last season I bought the lowest cost iron, from Argos, £3.50 ish. At the checkout, the lady asked me if I wanted product insurance, (about twice the cost of the iron).

When I told her it was to be used only for waxing skis, the offer was quickly withdrawn....

I second Alain Baxter and Craigdon. Glasgow is on the other side of the world....

I have had some great ski deals over the years from Craigdon.

It is a good point about asking for a particular recommended individual. You can be in the same shop, but get an entirely different service.

Good to see. Particularly liked Peter's observation of " albeit with some typical Pennine grassy patches"

I spent many early years skiing grass, rocks and heather, Kinderscout, Edale, Cross Fell, Hellvelyn.

More adventure in Australia between Eucalytus trees, in Canada, don't ski behind the trees ~ that's where the bears sleep. in Bulgaria, between/over horse sheet.

Still scoot on heather in Scottish hills, and zip between mole hills on the local hill.

All good experience!

That looks like great info, I hope that they keep it up to date.

I am currently interested in BA allowance to USA, and this concurs with my understanding.

Oh, Canadian Skier! they even named the sign after me!!!

I can confirm, having skiied in great Canadian conditions, (even did some noodling}, that I could not consider using a snorkel in 2ft of snow.

I can, however, confirm that I might have called in sick when the snow depth would have covered my boots. (Actually, that is untrue, in 40 years of working, I never took a sick day off, but that shouldn't spoil a good line....)

Agreed, Dobby. Best to just shut your eyes!!!

That is good info from Breckenridge. Although we will be based in Vail, I am also very hopeful of including a trip to Aspen. It was a long held dream to ski, and play guitar with John Denver, in Aspen. Unfortunately, he lost his place in the skiing and guitar world, in a plane crash.

Looking forward to renewing my aquaintance with Arapahoe Basin, and the Palavacini....
