I had an orthotic made when I got ski boots i 2005 and it is still going well , they dont wear out as they dont get flexed as in normal footwear.I once had my luggage "mislaid" at Geneva airport and had to hire a pair of boots ...the pain was excruciating! I found it was caused by the ankle bone dropping fractionally in the boot and rubbing on the join ..I even thought about snowboarding .



My advice is get an orthotic, you will need it even if you get a new pair of boots.

Being a tight-ass I hate paying French tolls and living in the north I have found the easiest route is Hull Rotterdam overnight ferry I then go via Luxembourg(cheap fuel} and Metz and Besancon then to Geneva ..from there its about 3 hours to the 3 valleys or you might be able to get to Morzine without a stop ..I did Rotterdam to Les 2 Alps in about 12 hours...Morzine is much easier..I have both chains and winter tyres ..I have never used the chains yet

This is why I drive!! but I still think that self drive might be best ...it about 50 euros to park in Val Thorens.

All I can say is that I saw the results he next day and the "mad woman" looked ....how shall we say..."delicate" and the baby looked as though all she had drunk was a a glass of milk...

Old Andy's resume leaves little of substance out ...we all had a good time..apart from the flu and the hotel was exactly as described ..looking forward to heated discussions as the where next year

I'm not too bad on the steeps but get very nervous on moguls ..I tend to get too fast for my liking and then get nervous and chicken out of the next turn..practice makes perfect so i will keep on trying
