I have been to Borovets a few times and have found that it has improved over the years. The first time I went was in 04 and it was as described, the food in the hotels was dreadful but in the restaurants quite good..I went a couple of years later and it had improved a little but the last time I went,about 4 years ago we went to a newer hotel which was excellent. I would not recommend it to anyone above intermediate and would really not go too late in the season as it is really not snowsure but if you go to one of the better hotels you can have a nice break with some skiing

My second ski holiday was in neiderau ...It cost me £26 HB for the week including flights

Stayed in Samoens a few years ago and enjoyed it good facilities and nice restaurants but a faf to get to the slopes ..a bus (free) to the gondola and back but the skiing is good once you are up ..there is a run all the way down under a little bubble to Vercland where you can catch a bus back..but in March it might be shut ..but for a non skier the place to go..if you have a car Les Gets is about half an hour and there is also a nice little resort called Praz de Lys which is good for a change also about half an hour

No...it was just a bit too steep and very icy in Jan ..if they had have done they would have ended up at the bottom .....quickly

Talking about tolls A couple of years ago I went to France then on to Italy and back through Austria and Germany on my own ..I used www.tolltickets.com and got a Telepass for Italy ..it was very easy ..In France I managed to avoid the tolls..

When i went to Italy (via france and Switzerland in June I went down with someone but came back on my own and didnt find it too difficult to use the tolls ..i used my card mainly and found that you dont have to use a pin ..it just debits it ..but I did find that (in Italy ) you have to drive all the way to the barrier or else the machine wont accept your card ...
