Graeme Hocking wrote:I would definitely go for Selva which has a range of half board accomodation options for you to choose from. From here you can access the Sella Ronda, Corvara/Colfosco, Canazei, Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, Alba and more. The ski schools are excellent if you need them and the apres ski varied. Everything for everybody!!

Thanks Graeme,

It does look like it is going to be Selva :!:

Thanks Andy )
Have you skied there?

We stayed in Canazei which wasn't bad, some good skiing and fairly good links to the circuit. But the best runs were in Selva and Arabba. Selva being better for the intermediates.
I loved Selva, the highlight being the Saslong downhill, awesome!

Thank you, Andy

There is a good choice of HB accommodation in Selva so hopefully we go there this January. If we are very lucky we might be able to re-visit Dolomites later on in the season :!:

Hi Tilloweb,

Thanks for some interesting info )
As La Villa is offered this year by one of the major ski operators it is an interesting option, pity about the
queues.
My OH would probably spend all day on blue runs over the hill in Corvara. As for me Arabba looks interesting :!:
We prefer HB to SC, probably too lazy, or is it tired :) :)So SC in San Cassiano is not for us ATM.

Kind regards,

Runway wrote:Yes--For the Dolomites I can recommend both Selva and Madonna. I have been to both in the past few years. If you are an intermediate skier especially ---lots of cruising Blue & red runs to explore.

Sometimes the Snow record in the Dolomites is bit iffy, however they seem to have improved their snowmaking in recent years.

Hi,

Thanks for that )
Both Selva and Madonna along with Cortina are top of my Dolomites wish list at the moment.

Tony_H wrote:Its Italy. Just get in a bar and watch them wave their arms around, probably with some cheesy euro pop tunes in the background.
If theres beer/wine/vodka available, Bob's your uncle )

Cheers for that.
Their wine is not bad, food very nice so I suppose it will do
