I just bought a helmet. I got a Salomon icon custom air. Sorry - I haven't tested it yet, but the vent size compares well with others, and they open/close to give you the choice you're looking for. Oh, it's also very light, much lighter than it looks. I almost double checked the box to make sure they hadn't sneakily removed it while I wasn't looking!

Thanks. Salomon twends to make good ski equipment.
I used to wear they ski boots for many years.

If it helps I wear a Giro G10. Wear it all day (when skiing) v comfy, adjustable vents, fine adjustment on head sizing and recommended.

Thanks Jim.
Giro G10 has many fans:)
I'll check it out.

Hi,

After my last season trip to Verbier I finally decided to buy a ski helmet. I have not used one before.
Could you comment on my shortlist below and possibly suggest other alternatives.
I am mostly concerned about comfort, adjustable fit, closeable vents and low weight.
So far I shortlisted:
Bolle Powder
Uvex X-Ride Motion
Uvex Ultrasonic
Casco Powder.
Many thanks for your input:)

Hi Ian,

Thanks.
That IS a GOOD piece of news.
Can you recommend a good chalet company?

Hi Ally,

I am going to try Eurostar directly.
Going out daytime and returning overnight is my preferred option too:)
The main thing that is putting me off doing it DIY are transfers. I've heard that they can be very expensive. Otherwise I know there are plenty of nice, reasonably priced chalets around.

Many thanks!
It looks as if it is already too late for our first trip this season in early January according to Crystal website :(
All overnight seats booked already???
Never mind.
